History

LogiXML was founded in 2000 by Arman Eshraghi, a software development and architecture professional. The company's mission was to help software developers create and maintain data-centric Web applications.

The first product developed by LogiXML was LGX AppDev (2000). This was an XML-based engine that built Web applications, and it was soon geared to the specific task of report-building for BI. Although some companies still use LGX AppDev, the product is no longer offered.

In 2002, LogiXML created Logi Report (then called LGX Report), the first engine-driven, XML-based reporting application. Between 2002 and 2004, more features were added to Logi Report until Eshraghi made the decision to brand the full-featured version separately—as Logi Info—while offering the basic version for free.

Therefore, in 2004, LogiXML began marketing Logi Report as a free Web-based BI reporting tool; the product was more recently renamed Logi Report or Freereporting.com. Like the other applications offered by LogiXML, Logi Report was built on XML technology.

In 2006, LogiXML discontinued the LGX branding and introduced the Logi product line, consisting of applications for ad hoc, managed and OLAP reporting, an embedded database to be used between operational databases and reporting servers, plus a connector pack for integration of commonly-used Web-based sources into the Logi reporting environment.

In 2008, LogiXML streamlined its commercial product offering, concentrating on Logi Info, (managed reporting, analysis and dashboarding) Logi Ad Hoc (ad-hoc reporting, analysis and dashboarding), and the Logi 9 platform (Web-based business intelligence platform including managed and ad-hoc reporting, analysis, dashboarding and data integration).

Products

LogiXML currently offers the following Web-based BI reporting and analysis products:

  • Freereporting.com - A free managed reporting BI solution that includes tabular and cross-tab reports, charts and graphs and drill-down capability
  • Logi Info - A managed reporting, analysis and dashboard product that includes advanced visualization tools, interactive analysis grid, data viewer, tree and heat maps. Logi OLAP, an OLAP analysis tool XML/A and Microsoft Analysis Services compatible, is bundled with Logi Info, together with Logi Connector Pack, which integrates data from some commonly used Web-based sources (such as Salesforce.com) and the Logi reporting environment
  • Logi Ad Hoc - An ad hoc reporting, analysis and dashboard product that includes report scheduling, interactive data viewer, tree and heat maps
  • Logi 9 - A bundled platform including Logi Info, Logi Ad Hoc and a Web-based data-integration product, Logi ETL.
